Located ten miles west of Dublin, Leixlip Golf Club is one of Ireland’s newest sporting jewels. It was designed by esteemed golf course architect Eddie Hackett, the man responsible for a significant number of other world-class courses, and it is expected that, in time, Leixlip will come to be regarded in such a way. Although it only has nine holes at present, it still measures in excess of 6,000 yards when played twice over for a full 18-hole round. What’s more, it occupies a beautiful part of the Co. Kildare countryside such that the views and setting are almost as exhilarating as the challenge of the course itself.
